Uviglie Castle rises on the hills to the east of Rosignano Monferrato at about 8 km. from Casale Monferrato. The Paucaparte di Celle family built it between 1239 and 1271 and in 1491 it passed to the Earls Pico-Gonzaga who started the agricultural activity.

In 1820 the Earls Callori di Vignale succeeded the castle and commenced the restructuring and refurbishment under the supervision of architect Arborio Mella. The Earl Cacherano di Bricherasio,an associate founder of FIAT, succeeded the castle in 187.

In 1904 with the death of the Earl, his sister succeeded him and donated the whole estate to the Missionari della Consolata of Turin.

The castle estate was bought in 1992 by the ISMIR company which was already the owner of the Cą Tania di San Martino di Rosignano estate. This company relaunched the cultivation of vines in this particularly suitable area.

Fine DOC wines such as Barbera Monferrato, Grignolino Monferrato Casalese, Freisa and Chardonnay are produced in the well equipped cellars of the estate. The prestigious Chardonnay Brut Spumante is obtained from the delicate pressing of the Chardonnay grapes. This lively dry wine agreeably accompanies all dishes from starters to the dessert.

The well defined personality of the Barbera Asti Doc "Le Cave" is for the experts and for connoisseurs we suggest the "Pico Gonzaga" which has been refined in barrique.
