Cantina Castello di Uviglie, an enduring Story since 1491.
With the first vineyard planted in 1491 and a renowned wine production dating back to 1907, Castello di Uviglie is one of the oldest wineries in Piedmont. Over the centuries, the estate has passed through the hands of great Italian families, including the Counts Pico Gonzaga and Cacherano di Bricherasio.
Today, Castello di Uviglie wines are the result of careful work that honors the terroir and enhances the native grape varieties of Monferrato: Barbera, Grignolino and Albarossa.
Our family has been active in the world of wine for generations, carrying on a dedication that has deep roots. With the purpose of expanding this family legacy, we decided to transform our passion into a larger project, dedicated to the valorization of the territory that has watched us grow.
With the acquisition of Castello di Uviglie Winery in 2020, we increased production to carry on our great family project and the entrepreneurial need to promote Monferrato, the birthplace of the Bonzano family.
Our values, as members of this family and as the original inhabitants of these lands, have been passed down to us through many generations. Love and respect guide our every decision, in life and work.
Thanks to the example of Enrico, Massimo, Stefano, and Simonetta, today Francesca and Davide lead a winery equipped with state-of-the-art technology, run by a young and dynamic team.
Dietro ogni bottiglia di vino del Castello di Uviglie c'è un team di professionisti appassionati, guidati dalla famiglia Bonzano.
